The National Public Health Center of Hungary has completed the necessary formal studies of the Sputnik V vaccine, which have determined that the vaccine meets the manufacturer's characteristics in terms of product quality and is suitable for use in humans.

The product of the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology is the fourth vaccine, along with Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca products, to receive approval for use in Hungary.

On February 5, Viktor Orbán, Hungarian Prime Minister, said that vaccination against coronavirus with Sputnik V could begin as early as this week.
